Jon Holsten

Jon Holsten grew up in a farming community in Northern Colorado. He attended Colorado State University a really long time ago -- graduating with a degree in communications. Jon was a television news reporter for several years, but ultimately transitioned to Fort Collins Police Services where he worked as a patrol officer, major crimes detective, and sergeant for nearly 20 years. Jon and his wife Ceri have been married for over 30 years and are blessed with six children who are slowly trickling out of the house. They run a small business in the community. Jon and Ceri are thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside Calvary Severance leadership, and help to make Jesus non-ignorable in the community.

Jesson Salyards

Pastor/Elder

Jesson grew up in Colorado in a small farming community where he learned the values of family, hard work, and responsibility. He took his passion for fixing stuff on the farm and pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jesson has spent most of his career working primarily in engine development. Jesson married Nicole in 2010 and they have been blessed with two wonderful children (Lydia & Joel). In 2018, Jesson and his family moved to Severance and were immediately blessed by finding Calvary Severance. Through God’s grace and work through those around him, Jesson was pushed outside of his comfort zone and has found a rewarding call to help lead and shepherd Calvary Severance. Jesson is passionate about connecting people authentically to build up Christ’s Church and spread His name to the ends of the earth. In his free time, Jesson loves spending time with his family, going camping, and working on his collector cars.

Bret Toman

Pastor/Elder

Bret was born in Colorado but raised in North Dakota. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, he says, "I put my economics degree to use for three years doing youth ministry in small town Minnesota. After three years at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., and some more years of youth ministry, I now use my ministry degree to run an online retail operation out of a cave in my basement." Married to Tina in 2000, they now have five children. In 2007 they had a sense of call to Colorado/Windsor and have been here ever since. He had a moral upbringing, but the spark really fanned into flame while he was a teenager. "The good news that Jesus took the punishment for my sins became more of a reality and reason for worship. I began to engage God in prayer and Bible study regularly if not daily, and it made an obvious impact on my life. I’ve been growing up ever since, but God’s Word and God’s people remain central to the process."

Jeff is a Colorado native and grew up in Loveland. He and his wife, Debbie, live just north of Windsor and have two sons, Colton 23, and Logan 21. A preachers son, Jeff came to know Christ at a very young age, of around 9, and has grown to make Jesus his Lord! He yearns to continue his walk, service, and growth with Christ alongside other believers, together as one body. Jeff and Debbie have serving hearts and long to make Jesus non-ignorable in Severance, Northern Colorado, and to the ends of the earth.

Jake Jacobson

Jake was born in Colorado and has lived throughout the Midwest and Rocky Mountain area. He has spent the majority of his life enjoying the small-town country lifestyle and rural areas of Colorado and Montana.  After graduating from Colorado State University-Pueblo, he joined the workforce in the electrical contracting industry.  Having grown up working with his father who was an electrician and owned his own company, Jake spent many summers working on job sites.  He continues to work and has spent the majority of his career as a Project Manager in electrical contracting.  Jake married Ashley in 2017 and the two of them have been blessed with two amazing children, Jaya and Samuel.  They moved to Severance in 2020 and started attending Calvary not long after.  Having been raised in a Christian home, Jake was blessed to hear the Gospel and the Word at a young age.  By God's grace and mercy, Jake has been surrounded by courageous men of our church and continues to grow.  He desires to build God's Kingdom and help all those in need to experience God's Glory.  When Jake is not spending time with his family, you can find him either flying his plane, hunting, fishing, or searching for the next adventure in the outdoors.

Steven Pettypool

Deacon

Having grown up in rural Arkansas, Steven grew to love small town life and the great outdoors. A loving Christian home taught him the value of his faith in Jesus Christ and the importance of family. His sense for adventure and travel came from his years as a United States Airman. Steven married his loving wife in 2001 and moved to Tyler, TX. Monica and Steven now became the parents of five children. He and his family then lived in Jackson, TN while Steven attended graduate school. In 2009, he became a nurse anesthetist and returned to TX. Steven and Monica fell in love with the state of Colorado and the people there and felt called to be there. In 2017, they met some fellow East Texans that were planting a church in Severance and felt called to be a part of it. God moved a lot of obstacles, opened many doors, and answered countless prayers to get the Pettypools to CO. They have a passion for serving the community of Severance and spreading the gospel throughout Northern Colorado.

Tina is a native of Ohio and it was there that God first called her into ministry. After college, she worked as a full-time Children's Ministry Director in Minnesota until she met her now husband, Bret (that's a fun story of God's provision for another time). She's continued in this role part-time off and on over twenty-eight years. Bret and Tina have five children: one grown-and-flown, one in college, two at Windsor Charter Academy Early College High School, and one she homeschools.
