"This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."  -Psalm 118:24

I have a friend who has been handed a tough set of circumstances. Most people in his shoes would just complain and self-loathe, and understandably so, but this guy is different. This guy has joy in the Lord that just overflows despite his circumstances. This guy always finishes our conversation like this: “Hey, I have to share a cool God story with you,” and he proceeds to tell me how he has seen God work in the simplest ways. It may be an answered prayer, a small gift he received at the right time, or an opportunity to share the gospel with a co-worker. This guy beams with joy, sharing what God has done and is doing in his day.

This guy’s joy in the Lord is contagious. I always walk away encouraged just because my friend has pointed out legitimate reasons to rejoice. They may seem small to some, but in reality, God never does anything small, and my friend reminds me of this. He also reminds me that we have reasons to be joyful today and to share that joy with others despite our circumstances.

What God stories are you overlooking today? Who needs to hear your God story today? God has given you the gift of today, which is filled with blessings from Him. Why not rejoice in the day the Lord has made? It’s contagious, and people need it.
