I Approve This Message
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13:1
Well, the day is finally here. A day many have waited for, many have regretted, and for some, just another day. It is election day. To be honest I am not thrilled about election day. I don’t like that so many have used days like today to cause division. I don’t like that dignity in politics has all but vanished. I am troubled by some of the things that make it on the ballot. Things that we have no authority to decide because God has clearly ruled upon such issues.
It is easy for us to be troubled by everything that surrounds today but here are some encouragements for believers.
I love you guys and I approve of this message.

It is easy for us to be troubled by everything that surrounds today but here are some encouragements for believers.
- Vote. It is one of the ways God has given believers to influence a fallen world. Your vote does matter.
- Pray. Pray before, during, and after the election. Pray for your candidate and opponent. There are greater things at stake than who wins the election. Who will win their souls?
- Don’t rant on social media. You won’t change anyone’s mind by doing so. The enemy loves to create division and has used that instrument in a powerful way to do just that. Instead have polite, meaningful conversations with others.
- Be a good neighbor. Of all the days, today, focus on being a good neighbor, even to those whose convictions are different than yours. After all, it is the second greatest commandment.
- Trust in the One who has authority over all things and rest easy. Philippians 3:20 says our citizenship is in heaven, paid for by Jesus Himself. Although we are citizens here, our ultimate citizenship is children of God.
