An Heirloom From Your Savior

Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. - Psalm 66:16

Testimony time. It has easily become my favorite part of the three-week Foundations Class at Calvary Severance; where guests and (in some cases) regular attendees explore what it means to be a Covenant Member in our body. This past Sunday was no exception.

One by one, each member of the class shared his personal testimony of how he came to a saving faith in Christ. Some grew up in Bible-believing families with a godly influence that pushed them towards the Lord. Others had very little or no spiritual upbringing and found themselves struggling to make sense of it all. Some grew up mistakenly believing they had it all together, while others battled self-hate, doubt, and addiction. In each case, however, regardless of background, all acknowledged eventually coming to a place of brokenness and the realization they needed a Savior. Their stories of God’s grace and redemption were humbling and beautiful to hear. Praise God for His Goodness!

We don’t have to save testimony time for the Foundations Class! And while it’s so encouraging to hear others’ stories of God’s faithfulness, it’s also critical that we share our stories with others.

One generation shall commend your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4

Find a way to share your story of transformation today. It is an heirloom given to you by your Savior; a reminder of where you’ve come from and a proclamation of the glory to come.
